Default 95 CBR900RR (893) Fault

Any help would be appreciated.

I recently ran out of petrol. Filled the tank and restarted. Rode for 50m made a stop and when i restarted it ran for another 20m before losing power and cutting out.

Could something have jammed the petrol pump? It starts but as soon as you throttle is chokes out. its barely running without throttle?

Thanks.

Hey Hutch,

How is the condition of your tank? Take a peek down there and see if you got rust deposits and/or other material down in there. Its fairly small passage through a pump. This pretty much means to me that its a fuel delivery issue. I would just tackle it from throttle bodies back. Kind of a bit of work but you will be sure your system is fine. See if your carbs are filling up and fuel is making that far abnormally with to much hindrance. Then trace it back to the source. Check lines and all. If you see nothing and problem still persists you can get your hands on some seafoam or lucas oil treatment and run that **** through there or see if it will "suck" through. Problem is when that pump starts sucking air its pushing air too and may have knocked something loose that was otherwise at rest in the fuel.

Just something you can at least rule out. Check fuel filter and petcock. Im not sure if your pump is in or out of tank either, but you are

How does it idle? RPM wise and how long untill it dies without throttle, or how long till you have to turn throttle.

Connections to the fuel pump? Fuel pump itself gone duff? Re-route the fuel lines to bypass the pump and see if that's the issue. I run mine (a 92 bike - UK) without a fuel pump quite happily. One less thing to go wrong. Seems the pump is only there to get the last couple of litres of fuel out of the tank anyway.
