Default 93 900rr

Hi. New guy with a question here.

I'm consideringa 1993 900rr which is for sale locally for what seems to be a reasonable price. From the pictures I've seen, the bike seems to be ingood cosmetic condition, and runs fine according to the owner. I will check it out in person within the next few days. I know very little about this model - would it make a good daily rider? Any known mechanical problems for this model year? Availablity of parts a problem? Any information you could give me would be much appreciated!

bent shift forks or worn 2nd gear dogs seem to be the biggest problem.. you can see by shifting it into 2nd gear while riding it and throttle it hard and if it pops out of gear around 5-7000 rpms then it will need one or the other replaced...

the shift fork is about -150.00 and 4 hour fix
gear dog worn- cases will have to be split and prob wont be worth the hassle.

there is no way to know if its one or the other though[:@]

Thanks for the feedback. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller so I can go look at it. The bike has 25k miles and the asking price is $2,500 which seems reasonable unless it needs a lot of work.

CrazyHorse, that is an amazing looking ride you have. The one I'm looking at has the red/white/blue combination - like the VF750 that Honda made in the 80's.

Crazyhorse your bike looks brand new. My '95 is now all taken apart and getting sanded to go flat black. aubsxc if you can get your hands on one go for it, even if it takes a little work. I love mine.
