was the battery charged when you first started the bike after the new parts were installed?

i hope i dont run into same problem this weekend when my new parts arrive. i ordered a new stator and r/r and hope the same thing dont happen to me.

Sorry for yelling
careful bro, jumping a bike off of a car can cause some problems, overheating the battery can cause the plates in the battery to warp and diminish the state of charge. Get a trickle charger for bikes ($25) and it should charge at ONE amp or less, ive seen things go wrong badly jumping off a bike from car.(ive done it myself) and when my yuasa (8 months old) would not charge past 11.8 volts , idid some asking and found all this out. hope it helps bro

Ya I know to leave the car off. Pretty sure it's my rectifier plug. Splicing in new one now.

check the plug to your voltage regulator. Mine melted and shorted out. Thought the V/R was shot but it wasn't. Made a redneck fix at the track and sealed all the wires back up. Everything was showing that it was charging but battery would die after 20 minutes. While bike was running was only getting 11volts to the battery. traced it back and found the melted plug. the only way to tell it was melted was to try and unplug it. Once we got it carefully pried apart then we seen the melting.
