900cc motor in a cbr 600 f2
I am not familiar with anyone having done this. I am not sure that the chassis of an F2 has enough rigidity and bracing to take the added stress of putting a 900 in. I would assume though that if you were going to try this that you would need some welding on the F2 frame. I remember a former mechanic mentioning this to me. I'm sure it can be done though and it would be crazy fast.
Why do you want to go through all that trouble?
The F2 weighs about as much as a 900 but the frame is made for less torque and horsepower. If you were successful in the swap you'd need to upgrade the brakes and suspension. You'd have to rig up a new wire harness, new exhaust hangers. Depending on what year 900 motor you'd have to worry about carbs or fuel injectors. Also foot controls would be an issue, then after all the work you'd essentially be making a 900 with a weaker frame.
But it can be done with enough money or connections to friends with tools. Definitely not a straight swap and when you're done you'd end up spending more than you would buying a nice 02-03 or so R1 or 1000rr and you would never get out what you put into it.

Well said Stynk!
I can foresee alot of complications though. Most people will overlook the safety aspect so there where you should consider swapping first; a better suspension, frame and brakes to accommodate the power of a 900. Hhhmmm... much more wiser to get a 900 as well! my 2 cents..

There was a guy that posted a review on how to install a 900cc engine in a F3. Search through the threads using the search
window and you will find the information with pictures. Off the top of my head I know he had to
1 Weld new mounts into the frame
2 Notch the frame to make room for the larger engines valve
cover
3 Install the new wire harness, ecu, and rectifier
4 Modify the airbox because of the larger engine
5 bent the 900RR header a bit to fit the exhaust
I might do this mod or add a turbo in the future also there are other guys that did this mod in the 600 F3/ F2 sections.
