ok i just bought a 97 900 RR. iam told the motor was swaped. i have the old side covers, oil pan, ans valve cover.

the current valve cover has the word "magnesium" on it. but the spare one dose not. iam new to the 900s does anyone know if this is any type of indicator?

 

magnesium is what the valve cover is made out of and i am not possitive but it is only on the 98 and 99 mosels

 

the numbers on the motor indicate a 93 motor. o well it runs clean, quiet, and its as fast as my buddies mint 94 FZR 1000. so iam still very happy
