Default 893 and 919 trans interchangeable??

I just bought a 919 trans for my 893 and now I realize it may not fit. Any thoughts on this? I tried to search and did not find any info.

Thanks.

All I can find is that part numbers for gears and the mainshaft and such, are different. The 919 parts are all MAS and the 893 are MW0 and MAE...which always means they are designated for different models.

Maybe sell the 919 tranny...I would hate to find out the hard way it does not fit. Sorry to hear it, hopefully someone who has actually cracked it open can help.

LOL! I called about 5 different Honda dealers and got both answers. Some said it's a direct drop in some said it would not fit. One told me to call Lee's Cycle Service in San Diego. I did, and spoke to a very intelligent and knowledgeable gent there named Quentan. These guys have raced everything and he had first hand experience on the swap and gave me a ton of info. He said it's a drop in but the ratios are different. Also I might need to use the 919 clutch basket too. Fortunately I have one so it looks like I am set.

How about that! I love it when someone knows what in the hell they are talking about. Good work.

Yeah, my buddy takes his Kawasaki to Lee“s, great place.
