Default 1999 Blade Single Wheel Conversion

Hi all,

Im new here and have been reading through this forum trying to work out how easy or hard it would be to mod my 1999 blade with a single wheel conversion.

I have a couple of options, first would be the expencive one that I dont think my budget would go to but I found a blade pictured below witha nc30 swingarm and ducati wheels. this looks well nice but dont have the cash or man power to mod like this.

the second one and the one that I will more than likely do is a vfr750 swingarm.

to the main question I have about this, has anyone done this arleady and have pictures of. i have acouple pictures of the swingarms which one will fit
heres the 92 ones

or the 93 to 97

please, which one?

I see a VFR on the way to work every day and it does look really badass. I like the look of the 92 with the extra piece of metal with the two holes in it in front of the hub, but the 93+ might have been redisigned for more strength or something or other. Either way good luck with the swap.

I did a lot of research and came close to doing the same conversion myself. Here's the info I gathered up so far.

VFR Swing arms bolt on - 1994-1997 without problem ** You need shims made for proper alignment of the chain**
1990-1993 Swingarms can be used but they need fabrication for the double wishbone mount on the bottom of the swingarm.

1998- VFR800's Can technically be used but again, it requires machining... the unit is TOO wide where it mounts to the frame of the bike. This requires shaving the ends and possibly making the seating for the bearing deeper.

Best wheels are 1990-1993 VFR750 (8 spoke) Directly bolt on and are 5.5" Wide, meaning you can keep your 180 tire size(VERY HARD TO FIND).
in 1994-1997, Honda went to 5.0" Wide rims for the VFR's; however. in 1998, the VFR800's came out with the 5 spoke 5.5" wide wheel. This wheel can be used on the VFR750 swingarm; however, there are screws that stick out on the Eccentric Hub other then the ones for the lugs so the wheel needs to be grinded to make clearance for these four bolts. You can find the exact shim sizes posted throughout the web, google it.

Just use the CBR900rr Shock and rear brake master cylinder but you need ALL the rest of the braking components of the VFR750 swingarm (especially the brake hose, it's looong).

A close friend of mine has done two of the swingarm conversions, both vfr750 arms one on a 95 900rr and another on a 96 900rr. The only other thing I know about the conversion to the vfr750 arm is, the arm is longer than the 900rr stock wheel placement which throws the "feel" of the bike off as well as the handling. My friend ad to order a GMD COMPU TRACK tripple to offset the forks to get the bike back to the correct riding postion to corner as hard as he did before the conversion.
