Default 1999 900 rr

Guys ,my friend has a a 98 rr 900 and he cant get the wheel up in 2nd by slipping the clutch. Correct me if i'm wrong but this bike should have no problem comming up in 2nd specially clutching it?? the bike come up in first no problem but in 2nd comes up 6 inches and drops( with the throttle pined). Ridding the bike, she has power and we even put a jet kit in it. the bike has a k&n air filter and a full micro pipe but even still i feel this bike should come up in 2nd and thrid its a 900!!... like i said the bike runs smooth and fast on two wheels ...your thoughts plz!!

Here's a reccomendation. Dont use the clutch method. Instead (If you are doing standup wheelies) use the bounce method. If you have heard of this it involves a coordination of unloading the suspension to give a spring effect to bring the front wheel up. Crusie the bike at about 55-60 in second gear and then stand up... Then in a very short and quick motion let off the throttle and simaltaniously "jump" on the front end. (Use your upper body weight to compress the forks) As soon as the forks are compressed and then start to unload again, give the throttle a good ole twist and the front end will come right up. A lot of this method involves weight placement and coordination so it takes a little while to perfect. I would reccomend this method anyday for the clutch method. Your bike takes MUCH LESS of a beating with this method and gets the job done just as well (Its a more smooth transition too) Dont beat on your 900 too hard though cause they are becoming more rare with every day that passes!!!!
