1992 CBR900RRN Carburettor problems

Hi Everyone,
Thanks again to all those who responded to my plea for help to remove carburettors. Just to let you know that the carbs have now been cleaned and re-built and are back on the bike. A temporary fuel tank set up was made on Sunday and with great trepidation I tried starting the bike. After a few anxious moments of spinning the motor to get fuel into the system the bike started and seems to be running well with a steady tick over and good pick up on the throttle and best of all NO leaks!! Just need to give the tank a good clean out as it is quite corroded having sat with fuel in it for nearly three years. Will let you know how I get on with that when I get round to it.

@Heathcote I don't recall if that year 90RR has a fuel pump or not. If it does, there is usually a Fuel Cut relay that controls it. There is a procedure in the manual that talks about a Fuel Pump flow test where you bypass the Fuel Cut relay and provide direct power to the fuel pump. The particular method is good for getting the fuel pump to fill the bowls of the carburetors after they've been rebuilt and freshly installed on the bike. Just something to put in the bag of tricks for future reference. Good luck with your project.
