is it worth it??
ok i currently have an f2 but am looking for something newer....i am checking out this 06 600rr (orange w the tribal wings) 12,xxx miles. I think i can get it for around 4500. there is some cosmetic damage but nothing to extreme...actually its not bad at all the worst thing is the front left blinker must have fallen out or sumthing and the previous owner used silicone to hold it back in....i dont kno y but its not real noticable but id have to change it...anyways...do you current rr owners think this is a good buy or should i hold out on sumthing else? Thanks all!!!
Rephrase your title with "squids, gsxr's suck", or "200 mph" and you'll get a lot more responses. lol.
IMHO, you probaly can find better but $4500 seems pretty good. Theres always someone who NEEDS to get rid of their bike.

I would wait and buy one thats never been down. Also, i think an f4i would be a justifiable upgrade to your f2. You can find them for way cheaper than 4500 since they started making them back in '01. Thats the route I think i might take if I were you.
I've been trying to sell mine for a while now. I would have to say that most people I've talked to seem like they aren't even interested unless they're getting "the most unbelievable deal of a lifetime!"
Just remember you get what you pay for. Your brother's cousin's uncle's friend who got that amazing deal on their super sweet bike doesn't usually happen in real life. If you buy an older bike you deal with the older bike problems that come with them... there really is "no free lunch" when it comes to buying a bike. People can always lie to you, if they do their own work the bike could've been almost destroyed look great now and still be sold to you with a clear title...
My suggestions, always see the bike in person, ignore the miles (people switch out gauges/change gearing all the time), listen to how the bike runs and see if you can affirm there are no clutch/engine problems. Ignore cosmetics for the most part... now a days you can get a new wrapper in whatever color combo you want from an aftermarket dealer for ~$800... I've seen the fairings up close and some look as good as stock on fit/finish.
Worry more about the cost of ownership (resale value when you'll want to sell as opposed to purchase price) than the cost of purchasing the bike since you're probably not buying your LAST bike.
