Would this be a good tire for someone who wants more durability and longetivity rather than absolute handling. I won't really be going to the track, just weekend joy riding.
I've put 3000 miles on the Powers so far with a track weekend and they have a lot of tread left...they have a special design with a harder compound in the center of the tire for longevity and a softer compound on the sides...I swear by these tires now

I run Pilot powers on the street, but on the track they fade away even running a somewhat brisk pace.

I would go for Mich Racetec, Perelli Supers SC's or the new Dunlops for track days...

I suggest running a tire that is made out of a form of rubber. They seem to work well for me and some other guys I know.

That's what I like to hear. I'll have to keep this in mind when I get new tires for my baby next year.

Hey Fellas,
Just got a 97 that needs some boots! I want to put a larger
size rear tire for looks mainly. I'm not gonna ride hard into
the corners yet because not used to the bike yet! Which would
be a good combo for an amateur rider?

here's another good place to buy tires from. They seem to have some of the lowest prices I have found, not to mention tons of bargains on gear.

I'm happy with my Dunlop Qualifiers, but I am so pleased with my Michelins on my F-150 (Generals oh so suck!) I might easily be converted to Pilot Powers.
