i heard from a local dealer to take the bike into a certified honda dealer on the first service that they check valve clearance, and do some other things and also it will void your warrenty if you don't take it in within the first year??? is that not true because i'm due for a first service... actually i'm 100miles over...

I'm only at 400mi but my dealer told me that it didn't matter if i changed the oil myself or had it serviced. Honda would still honer the warranty. You would just need to document it yourself. I think if your motor locked up and your oil was black, they would know you didnt change it.

I work at a honda dealership. you can do that, but.... I wouldnt. We have ppl all the time that do that and have to argue with honda. and if the service dept isnt yoru friends... they can really f*ck you. thats how it is at our shop.
