Yea thats what I do, I use baby shampoo to clean her with a water hose get on it and ride it a bit before applying the honda polish. Water has never hurt any of my bikes.

 

I was going through my owner’s manual to read up on what Honda says about adjusting the chain and I came across suggested washing instructions. Honda says use water and soap then dry with a soft cloth or chamois. Honda also says to run the engine to dry it and lube the chain when you are done.

 

YES WATER!! I RIDE IN THE RAIN, IF i GET WET SHE GETS WET. I USE REGULAR HEAVY GREASE FOR THE CHAIN IN SMALL PORTIONS .. IT PROTECTS THE LINKS BETTER.

yea dude...just wash it like you do your car, then just blow it off with a leaf blower. for your tires simple green cleans up up pretty good, don't use tire wet though, you'll go right on your can once you hit a corner

 

Yep... I spray the **** outta my bike with water after I use turtle wax car wash. Then I use Protect-All spray (same ingredients as Honday Spray) and she shines Oh... and if HONDA says to USE WATER... uhmm... they built the bike... so use the water !!!

 

I ONCE put my entire body in water...it did not hurt at all!!!
But I have washed my bike and use Spray Cleaner/polish or Protect All for detailing it....
The water is good for getting all those suicidal bugs off my bike and out of my radiator
