someone local had his bike stolen years ago. recent he found the same bike(same defects on fairings and clutch cover) but a different frame. he says the person that owns it now bought it legally and needs to know if and where the vin would be stamped on the block/engine. can anyone help? i tried searching to no avail

I don't know what type of bike you have but on the 929
The engine serial number is stamped on the right
side of the upper crankcase.
