Universal Sign for Cops Ahead?

Ya the first time I saw a guy pass me in the opposite direction tapping his helmet I was pretty puzzled until about another 1/2 mile down the road I saw 2 state troopers with a whole string of sport bikes pulled over....so I just kinda put 2 and 2 together and figured that was the cop sign.

I learned that the day I got my bike from a fellow rider. We do it as more of a point, but I think that its universally recognized that and tapping of the helmet indicates a "heads up". Most of the time this means cops, but I've seen it used for construction or other road hazards. Definately something to know, saved me a few times.
Side note: I ride with a few military guys, as well as having attended an academy myself. We started using squad movement signals when riding in groups. It makes it so easy to stay organized. Try it! The key is making sure everyone is on the same page.
