Default Track tape for headlights & signals

Can I get some info on where to get some tape to cover my lights on track day. Is there a pre-cut tape for the headlights? Something that won't damage my paint.

painter's tape! comes in all type of colors! duct tape can leave some residue. also, make sure you pull your fuses for your lights or else the tape glue will get melted on.

+1 on the Painter's tape. Comes off really clean, but can't find it in red, so I use white.

Just found this post and wanted to add this question and thought.......

Why do they require you to tape your lights ? Cant only be so they cant be a distraction when lit, cause then we would just disconnect them.

My last track day was with Ti2TT ( Take it 2 the track ) They did not require me to tape any of my plastic lights, just disconnect them. They told me i only had to tape the glass head light (if i had one)

and....... on my VFR (which has plastic headlamp lenses) i use a clear protectant film that protects the expensive lens from rock chips and road debris. This film also keeps mefrom having to tape my lens with DUCK, DUCT, or PAINTERS tape.

Got the headlight protection film at http://www.thetankslapper.biz/online.../mainframe.htm

One reason they gave me for taping lights/signals up (even plastic ones) is because the bulbs inside are glass.
