Default TIRES....

Ok, so I have the STOCK tires. My bike has 3400 miles on it. It's 4 months old. I've done 5 burnouts (NOT LONG ONES JUST ENOUGH FOR SMOKE!) and the center is SMOOOOTH!!! Anyone else having these problems? I don't do burnouts anymore! I DO high speed A LOT! Any recomendations on some tires that anyones had GOOD luck with would be nice! I want one that's going to last a while! 4 months SUCKS! My buddy recommended dunlop 208s. What do you guys think?

Hate to disappoint ya but these tires don't last very long. 4k miles is good.

Yep, I hear 4000 is about average. I am at 2900 now and I can't wait to put on a set of Michelin Pilot Powers. I hear they are great tires.

dunlops are DISCUSTING...

You have what on your bike right now? the 218's? all those are are a newer version of the 208, hard compound, takes a while to warm up, ****ty grip, unless FULLLLLLY warm, and last looong...

Power Pilots, best tire on the market. I get them here for 219 installed +tax... cost of 1 dunlop 208...
Power pilots have a harder compound in the center, and a softer compound on the sides so when you daily ride, the | position of your bike wont kill your treadlife and the soft compound on your bike when your \ and / it grips. Minimal warm up time, and GRIPS F*CKIN AWESOME... Specially here in vegas with these HOT, SLIPPERY, OIL DRENCHED ROADS...

Id spend the money where you'll love it. POWER PILOTS..

I put around 3600 on my pilots, and thats wheelying everywhere.. Which here you get wheelspin from wheelies cause its so slippery, plu s the ground is hot, so it wears faster.

go with the pilots... if you need, I could send you some from my shop at the 219.00 price.. comes to like 250 for a SET!!! and like 15-25$ shipping... dunno if other shops have our prices or not... cause ours is basically COST + 0% lol...

My 05 600RR came with Dunlop on the rims. I'm more than a little worried hearing that they only run for 4k miles..... ouch. I'm a daily rider and I take long trips just about every week-end. That's going to add up fast.

From what I've seen all the manufacturers put what tires they have on the line at the time when it is time to mount them to new rimes. I guess they buy what is on sale just like we do when it comes to groceries or clothes. I've seen the exact same year and model bike new on the show room with different tires on each.
