Default thinkin about sellin 900 and getting a 600RR next season

So I would like to hear all your opinions on this.. Ive decided I want to get a newer bike, and get a 600cc. First, I am debating between the Daytona 675, and the 600RR. So, with that being said, anyone with a 600RR ever ride a Daytona? What to you think?

Also, what are the main differences between the years of the 600RRs? (Does the newer 07+ 600RR's handle better? comfier? ..etc)

And, for those who have ridden or owned 900RR's .. hows it feel on the 600rr compared to the 900rr? My bike sits too high because of the VFR swing arm, and the guy raised the sub frame.

My friend just bought an 08 ZX6R and it felt nice sitting on it. Hows the 600rr ride height compared to the Ninja? (For those who have sat on a newer Ninja)

I still have my 900rr and since then have own an 05 GSXR 600, an 06 kawi zx10r and now have an 03 600rr and love it. I restored it from the frame up as well as my other bikes. The 900 is a very torquey bike but the 600 is lighter and more linber to handle and once the engine revs it has alot of power. The unit prolink that puts the shock on the swingarm helps it handle very well on curves and city driving at low rpm is great because of the first 4 injectors below 5000 rpm. You will love the 600 but since youv'e owned a 900 I think you will be better off with a liter bike. Go for the cbr 1000rr. Just my 2 cents. Johnnyh

PS. I love your 900 it looks great and the seat height is the same as the zx6r. I can't see myself lowering my bike. I love to stunt and as you know the 900 loves to dance and so does the 600rr. Johnnyh

Good to hear. I thought about going for a liter bike, but really, I don't want anymore power than my 900RR has. The torque definitely is nice, but I suspect the 600RR's stick with the 900RR's due to technology advancements. Yes?

As of now, I have 2000 miles on my 900RR, so .. 2000 miles riding. I have decided I want to get a smaller cc bike (600) and enjoy the nice handling. Someday, for sure, I will move on to a liter again, but that's years down the road. I rarely ever twist the throttle, I just ride it to commute, and of course, to cruise/enjoy those curvy country roads.

I think I can handle a 1000RR, as my 900RR has never scared me.. but, my thought process is stick with something a bit smaller.

The comfort between the 600rr and the ZX-6r is a tossup. My friend has the '09 ZX-6 monster edition bike, and it's just as comfortable as my (06) 600rr. I haven't ridden her bike as much, but in all honesty, I prefer my bike slightly. Also, the ergonomics on the CBR fit me better personally.

So my 900RR finally surprised me today. Leaving College, I twisted the throttle in first I guess a bit too much. Front end shot up about 33 degrees for a couple seconds and came back down.

..Wow.. Adrenaline was pumping. That was my first wheelie. Wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but, I also wasn't ready for it.

Not sure the 600RR's torque compared to the 900's .. but .. may be another reason to get a 600. Don't want to do an accidental wheelie again, as fun as it was. lol

You're looking at a difference of about 30 ftlbs of torque. The 600's are right around 50 while the 900+/1000 is right around 80.

I have -1+3 on my sprockets on my 600 and it goes up under full throttle in first so the torque is less but so is the weight. I have a feeling the 600rr is going to surprise you when you get it. Johnnyh

I just picked up a stock 07 600RR and yeah it will surprise you. On my test ride I got it and it picked that front wheel right up. Once it gets into its RPM range there is no keeping that front wheel down. At lower RPM it is very tame and kinda slow compared to my F4i with a -1 front sprocket. As my dad said "Once you get it into the higher RPM range its not well behaved at all"

No offense, but you need to work on your body postion. A 600rr is one of the most "gutless" 600's in terms of torque. You shouldn't have any problems with that front end being in the air.
