Tall guys on 600rr
Hey ,
Just got my RR registered and on the road the other day (wish I was in Florida or something . . . Nova Scotia is COLD this time of year!). I was apprehensive about buying the bike because i'm 6'3" with a 35" inseam, but the Honda was more comfortable than the Suzuki and no worse than any others. I'm looking for ways to make the bike a little more comfy for extended riding . . . any other beanpoles with advice?

Some people use Heli Bars to raise the rider position ( http://www.helibars.com/ ) and add a Corbin seat, but again the bars change the handling of the bike; however, there will be at least a few people that claim Heli Bars are the next best thing since sliced bread...adjustable rearsets might help too, but generally they raise the foot peg position.

I'm to long to rest my feet on the passenger pegs...I will catch a crap. I am 6' 4". Adjustable rearsets will help a little bit. You can usually adjust then down and back some (Depending on the rearsets you purchase) You have to be careful though when draggin pegs as they will limit the lean angle you can achieve.
I always wondered why they hell people would buy Helibars....Might have to look into those. My bike is ok but if I'm in traffic and have a back pack on I usually start to get sore after 1-2 hours.

I'm 6' 1 AND A HALF"......... So 6'2". lol. Anyway, I just put up with it. I scoot back a little on the seat and hold myself up with my abs as much as possible. It'll suck doing this for the first couple of weeks, but if you really work on your ab muscles, the weight on your wrists and back strain will eventually go away (plus you'll get a nice little 6-pack). Plus a Corbin seat helps out TREMENDOUSLY on long trips and city traffic. But for long trips, there's really nothing you can do to improve your comfort to the point where it doesn't make you sore....these things are built with performance first, comfort last.
