I will definately try that tomorrow. I think that if it does not work after that, it means that I somehow managed to destroy my thermostat. I am under the impression that water pumps should not go out with only 6K on the bike. It takes sooooo much effort to get the thermostat out, so I am willing to try everything and anything first.
So difficult to figure things out when you don't know too much about how engines and their components work. I'm trying to learn slowly but surely. Hey, thanks everyone for not making me feel like too much of a dummy, I will try to put my input on this forum site where I can.[:-]

Put some air in the radiator? Who told you that? Having air bubbles in your system can cause more damage. Check your hoses and cap. I've heard hose clamp going loose under extreme heat expansion. Where did the coolant explode out of? Can't really help cuz of lack of info. From what i am picking up, the coolant exploded from the radiator core itself? Maybe it was punctured by a debree or something.

sounds like a defective thermostat. Its been 90-100 every day and my bike rarely gets over 225 in traffic. if its heating up that bad and popping off the coolant it is most likely you have a bad thermostat. I am guessing it got stuck in the closed position and so you arent getting any new fresh coolant or any coolant circulation at all. You have a bad thermostat it will pop your hoses off repeatedly and overheat your engine until you coke it and the pistons sieze.
Take it to the mechanic before you have a 10k dollar paperweight
