Default An Explosion Woke Me....

It's 4:23, and I'm awake. Why? Because at midnight my entire house rumbled. At first I thought "Oh ****, somebody is breaking in," so I listened for footsteps (which are hard to hide on hard wood floors like mine) and prepared to get up and pounce. When I heard nothing, I dismissed it as the cat knocking over something big, but something that could wait til the morning.

A few seconds later, my neighbor called me and asked if I heard "that." SERIOUSLY?!? I met him outside, and to my surprise a bunch of other neighbors were out. I guess this means it wasn't the cat. We ran about a half mile and discovered a dumpster on fire. It pretty much woke everybody up within a half mile radius...it was THAT loud. The way I figure it, some kids built a pipe bomb and decided to blow it up in the middle of the night.

So as I'm talking to Tommy, he said that moments before it happened there were 2 or more kids driving around in a light blue Mustang convertible with the top down and headlights out. He didn't think much of it until the explosion. So anyway, we decide to drive around and see what we can find, even though my dad (who is my neighbor also) insisted that they would be miles away. My theory is "never underestimate the power of human stupidity." These kids wanted to see what kind of damage they did and would surely be in the area, so me and Tommy put ourselves in their shoes and went to every decent hiding spot we could think of that would have a view of the fire. No dice.

I get back home and my dad is in the street talking to a cop. Apparently, the Mustang came back while we were gone. He didn't get the plate, but he gave a good description. I guess the dudes were cruisin around real slow and kept stopping to look. It's great being right. Well anyways, there's a good chance they should get the f***ers thanks to Tommy noticing the suspicious vehicle in the first place.

Long story short.....I'm couldn't fall asleep afterwards and will be hitting 24 hours when I begin my workday. YAHOO.

When I lived down on the coast (actually I still live on the coast like 90% on every Aussie, but it was called the Central Coast..yawn) We had these 'inventive' local drug dealers, who thought up this great idea, instead of putting up with all the desperates arriving at all hours, which would look very sus. So they decided it would be easier to let of an explosion of some kind to let everyone know that the drugs where ready & open for business, smart eh? saved on phone calls!!, cept everyone with in cooee, like a radius of miles, would ring up to complain about these inconsiderate dorks, took the cops about a 2 days to realise something was going on (& about week to figure out wot) & all they had to do was wait till El dick wit to fire off the Canon (yes it was a small canon), to hone in and make arrests.
