What's your stock gearing -- 16/43? If that's right then -1/+2 will put your speedo an additional 11.6% happy

Curious how you came up with that %. Do you have a formula? Have -1 in the front only. Have a sprocket for +1 in the back but **** its hard keeping front end down now, wondering if I should even throw it on.

How easy is it to get the from up with only -1. Cause i was leaning towards -1, +2 but i don't want it to bee too much...

In first at 20mph it will come up on a drop of a dime. In second at about 65, one little rock and bam it up like nothin. I might consider +1 in the back later. Right now this is enough for me. By the way, I weigh 210. I'm also on a 1000.

imo....why not -1, and -2 for like $50 total and play with each...way less money and can mod out all the time without breaking your chain to do it

Talk to 6hundred_doubleR. He just did -1 on his 600RR and he loves it. He can better tell you what you'll get out of the 600

newb question, here's what i would like to do, buy the kit for changing the gearing -1, +2, then change the chain and the front sprocket, i have allways heard that uneven ware by a used sprocket and a new one would cause the new sprocket and the new chain to wear faster. but i was thinking, just change the front sprocket and chain, later on try changeing rear sprocket and put front stock sprocket on, or changeing both depending on which i like best, is this a horible idea, or will the new chain with the -1,+2 kit be too long/short for some any of these combinations, i have allways been with stock gearing. "the newb is not trying to be a retad" just may be asking for too many options at once.

although when im laying over the tank and running hard through 1st gear and shift into second it feels like the front tire comes off the ground 3-4 inches, is this normal with stock gearing, i dont do weelies often but i can never get them up in second. im sure it just my technique. "i know weelies are the [sm=badbadbad.gif]"
