Default Should i buy it?

I was looking at an '03 rr with salvage title with 33k miles, and it runs great, sounds great, but the speedometer only slightly works...

the Gas gauge reads, and the tachometer aswell, but the speed doesnt read, and the oil can light it on, (oil pressure right?) in addition to this the headlights dont work, the owner said they were HID'S. This is all making me assume there is a electrical issue up front, making the oil pressure read incorrectly, and causing all the problems i have listed...

$1500? is it worth

Did you check the oil level? Any oil light would concern me.... And if he were to say "it's just the light that's on", I'd run unless you wanted to check it yourself. IIRC, the sensor is on the cylinders right above the clutch.

It really depends on what you want it for. Track bike - if it's mechanically sound etc - maybe it's worth it if you can get it for $1000

If you wanted it to flip and sell - not a chance

It's going to be really hard to sell a salvage titled bike.

I edited my above post.

But you can check the bike with the fairing on.

And after hearing that, I'd run. Again, unless you wanted to check it yourself. Could be the sensor was just unplugged.

Could be. It also could be that it has no oil pressure, and it's a time bomb. Something like that, which isn't easily verifiable, would make me walk away. There's always a better deal out there

Did you ride it?

Yes i did ride it, it seemed fine both times i rode it, i watched the temps and the fans kicked in as i let the bike idle in the p;arking lot so it seemed legit, but i was too late and someone else bought it now im kicking myself for it

Don't worry, there's always a better deal. You'll get a bike that you really like if you're patient enough to wait for it.... (I know, I'd roll my eyes too at that kind of statement - it's never easy to wait it out)
