scratched up pipe

Default scratched up pipe

I just put the jardine rt-0ne race slip-on in polished aluminum on my bike and when i was putting it on the heat shield scratched the pipe up pretty good so i was curious if anyone knew how to buff them out if possible any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks

first how deep are the scratches, depending on how bad they are will tell if they can be buffed if they are deep you may have to wetsand with coarse paper and work your way up to a fine grit and then buff. post some pics if able

Wow you have a problem. Polished aluminum is a bitch. Not going to tell you that it cant be fixed but damn. I have the same pipe (but no scratches LOL) and i'm not even sure that you can do anything about it. Short of trying to paint it somehow. Buffing might work but it could also make it worse. I would like to see some ideas from the forum on this one too. Post up fellas.
