Default Repsol 600RR - Did they make them in 03?

Hey guys - not sure if this is the right spot for this; apologies if it's not.

I'm in the middle of drooling over an '03 CBR 600RR with 11k miles. It's a super clean bike. The owner has it posted as a repsol though, and says it's not a replica.

He's asking $5k.

My questions:

- did they make repsols in 03?
- anything in particular that I should pay attention to when I go check it out tomorrow?
- Do you think 5k is a good price for an original, clean 03 repsol with 11k miles?

Any input here would be awesome. Thank you

There NEVER was a 600RR Repsol. The owner more than likely dropped the bike and replaced the plastics with cheap chinese stuff

$5000 is a ridiculous price for an 03. Especially considering the owner is lying right off the bat. I wouldn't pay more than $4000 for an 03 and it would have to be in show room condition considering 03-04s around here have been going for $3000-3500.

If I were you, I'd pass on it.

Repsol's were only done in 05, 07 and 09 (Not sure after that) for ONLY the 1000RR's.

So he is bull****ting you, My guess would be is he might be the second owner and was told that when he bought it?

Even in Canada where bikes are more expensive that is alot for a bike with aftermarket fairings.

Actually the 2004 1000 Repsol was the first year of the replica. Make no difference though.

I'm pretty sure it was 05 unless they made it in 04 and 05?
But I thought they made it on odd years after they first came out?

I paid $5200 for a 07 with 2600 miles that was practically brand new. It even came with a sweet Joe rocket Honda jacket and a helmet. Do not pay $5K or a 03. Talk him down to $3700 and maybe he has a deal.

Yep, didn't make Repsol 600 of any year.

This again. Full of ****. I am picking up a 2004 600rr for $4200 on Thursday with 12k miles. Still a little high, but it's the going rate for this area, so I can't be mad. Either walk away or call him out. If he's lying about that, he's lying about other things.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

I think he was just mistaken, but either way, he ended up selling it before I could take a look (for $5k too).

I ended up picking up an 05 SV650s instead. I'm sure I'll be back around these parts when I upgrade to a real repsol

Cheers
