There's also radar absorbing coatings too, but you really can't just get that anywhere
The idea of 'stealth' is to absorb the radar waves, not deflect it back.

I think carbon fiber helps to absorb a little as well. I think it will be near impossible to be invisible. Even the stealth bomber/fighter is picked up on our radar its just small like a goose blip. The tires and my helmet are the things that would make it near impossible. Circles/spheres are horrible for "stealth". I think im gonna still do something of the sort.

I take it none of you guys watch Mythbusters huh? They tried everything, and NOTHING worked. They tried flat black paint, they tried infared LED's, foil, radar jammers, etc. They tried just about every trick in the book with no success. Plus, there's no real reason to. From behind, if an officer can't get a good radar reading, he'll pace you, if you pull away.....your speeding....and your ticketed. Same thing goes for the front, or even if they are a mile away in the median radar gunning people, they can still see that your speeding when your zooming past all the cars that he CAN get a reading from. (My next door neighbor is a cop, he tells me all this.)

Not to pop anyones bubble, but the only thing that'll result from making a bike stealthier is other drivers not being able to see it.

bushmasterAR15, you're an idiot. CF doesn't absorb radar energy at all. I don't know where you got this from...

the B2 has no 90* angles, and neither does the F117. Just because you looked at a picture, doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.

The only reason you're getting **** from me is because you're not the brightest cookie in the box. You've proved this time and time again on the forum. If want to go after the "look" of stealth Design, fine, go ahead, I think it looks cool. But don't come back on here telling us that "ZOMG cops can't detect me!" because their little hand held units are 5 times more accurate than the stand up speed traps.

2 its not ganan work.
3 i did see the bit on Mythbusters.
4. ther is i geuss 2 type of guns. radar and lidar gun.
its is a good idea if it would work. its better to get a good radar detector. laterz

Most departments dont use doplar radar anymore, they use the laser guns. Doplars you just aimed in the general direction and it would pick you up. Now, with laser, your screwed. It only needs to be on you for 2 seconds, and that it. Laser radars actually have a scope (most of them) that they look through to aim (this being the hand held ones). They could aim it at your mirror, handle bar, anything, and its going to give them a reading. So as far as that goes, aint going to happen.

But I think giving the bikes some extra angles or doing a carbin fiber makeover would be cool.

I will say it again, I know it would be near impossible to defeat radar. I was originally going for looks.

I said "I think" about the CF bieng RAM, (thought I read that somewhere but I misread).
"ZOMG cops can't detect me!"
<-I dont remember saying this either.

I am not quite sure why you think I am stupid. Im actually pretty smart, just misunderstood by lesser minds. You know, I come on here and read all the posts on this forum in amazement of the idiocrocy(and i keep my mouth shut). So, I cant be that bad. Judging by most of the grammer and typing skills as well.

It's funny to hear you judge my intelligence. Usually when someone does this it is because they are lacking in the matter.
Which I believe to be true in this case.

Thanks to everyone elses replies.

just my observation the trailer stand alone speed traps dont register my bike, but i have plenty of faith the hand held units would. I have an escort x50 in my cage and it works like a champ, but laser is the great equalizer and **** all. even if you do get a hit on your detector for laser, its much to late.

CF by itself won't absorb radar but it does produce less of a radar signature than other materials. It does have properties that when combined with other technology, it will reduce the ability to reflect radar. That's why they use it on the B2

the B2 has no 90* angles, and neither does the F117.
You're right about the B2, you're wrong about the F-117. But its not an apples-to-apples comparison in stealth technology. These planes showcase two very different methodologies to stealth. The B2 is designed for radar absorption. The F-117 (which is an earlier generation stealth), though it does have some radar absorption abilities, takes a completely different approach. The designers didn't care that it reflected radar. Instead, they took the approach that they'll just deflect the radar in a direction other than which it came. That's why it has all sorts of weird angles and looks like a bunch of plates. Both planes also rely heavily on radar avoidance, taking advantage of dead spots in enemy surveillance.

Now having said that, there's nothing you're going to do that'll help you on the street because you just don't have access to the materials or the knowledge. Plus, there is one thing on the bike that you will be able to do absolutely nothing about in terms of stealth and that is you, the rider. Just the way the human body sits on a motorcycle produces more of a radar signature than the bike itself. Unless you enclosed yourself in a cockpit like an airplane, nothing you do will matter.

Yoda says much anger in you. People could read some of your posts and say the same about you.

This is just an observation. I've noticed, Knight, that your posts on this board are much more condescending and arrogant than they are on 600rr.net. Why the split personality??? There's no need for that antagonism here. If you're really that miserable coming onto to this board, then just stay on 600rr.net. Lighten up!

just to add on that. ther not completely invisible to radar, they just create a much much smaller signature on the radar. so it looks like a fly and is basicly ignored.
