"RACCOON TAIL" ***COMPLETED***
Dial-up warning........LOTS of pictures here.........
Alright guys, here it is. The new "Raccoon Tail" Fender Eliminator. This is a combination of Larry's Fender Tag Bracket, Rizoma Zero LED turn signals (front and rear) and the heat shield cover (fabricated by myself.........which took forever.) Why is is called the "Raccoon Tail"?. Well, the front mask design I did is called the "Raccoon Mask", so I decided to call the rear fender a "Raccoon Tail" for continuity purposes. (plus, "Raccoon-ish" reflective decals for the fender are currently being made.)
So, I wanted my fender eliminator to address the following issues.........
1. Getting rid of the stock fender
2. Maintaining the stock exhaust, but still hiding the stock heat shield.
3. Mounting the tag.
4. Mounting Rizoma turn signals in rear.
Here is a sort of "semi-writeup" with pics and how I did it........
With the mud flap, reflector and tag light removed, you get this, the heat shield cover that has that bit sticking down. I could have left it, but I decided to take my ingenuity and make it my own design.......
Then I took a hack saw to it (with a design in mind) and went at it.........
And came up with this..........
Now for the test fitting to make sure everything fits and hides everything I want it to......
Then after a belt sander, hand sanding, and a nice coat of paint, I came up with this............
Now to install the kick-*** Rizoma Zero turn signals..........
Another test fit and adjustment for the signals, and all the freaking wiring.......
.......like I said before, FREAKING wiring. I'm really starting to hate wires at this point.......
AND NOW THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!!!!
I ALSO SWAPPED OUT THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS TOO......
Let me know what you think. I thought it turned out GREAT for not costing a damn penny (other than the spray paint and Rizoma signals.)

wow, looks awesome! you think you will have any problems passing inspection?
wow, looks awesome! you think you will have any problems passing inspection?
Other than that......I would actually pass inspection with the exception of the signals (which are approved in Europe, but not DOT approved as of yet.) Even if I did have to get it inspected, I would just swap the Rizoma's out for some DOT ones anyway. (and yes, my tag does have a light too.)
But I will say one thing, these Rizoma's are FREAKING SWEET!!!! They are MUCH brighter than stock signals (though, they are smaller). And at night, they are VERY VERY VERY much brighter than stock. Plus, at night, the entire signal lights up, so you can see them from front/behind/side, etc.
