grease chain, check for flat spots in the tires from sitting, spark plugs, clean air filter, front and rear break fluid level and condition, OIL AND FILTER (change it), chain tension, throttle and brake adjustments, go over it with a wrench to make sure everything is tight, etc... check your manual, it should have the winterization information in there, and what to check after its been idle. also start once a week to keep it nice and fresh.
i had my bike sitting for about a year and a half. just got it up and running again a few mos back, w/ alot of help from the folks here. you may want to check out your battery, if you haven't been conditioning it...
thnx f3...
vertical...in response to ur reply...ii had it covered with a big *** cloth. shud ii still clean the air filter?
as far as my batt...ii turned on the bike theday b4 thnxgiving n ran it for an hr or so...so ii shud b good on that..

redbb, fyi for batt, i read somewhere that just running it idle won't charge the batt. instead, you have to run up to at least 5k? rpms, i think... but it sounds like yours is working fine.
