i think you heard someone talking about how to ride during the break in period. i have heard of that during the first 1,000 miles...but then again, i have heard to brake in the bike and ride it like you intend to ride it or else the rings wont seat properly...these bikes are meant to be reved and to wined out the rpm's. i wouldn't recommend doing 40 in 6th gear. more like 140 in 6th gear!? haha.

Bikes are meant to beat on and to be driven like a bike if you shift to early on the tach you will stall out and if you shift to late and dump the clutch then your on one wheeel baby..Well bottom line ride thye damn bike if you feel that it is telling you to shift then do it .Feel it out find the sweet spot of your clutch and play with it welcome to streetbikes.Ride dirty
