The Pirelli Diablo or Dialblo Corsa III are both very good compromise tire. The Dunlop Qualifiers are also a good choice for spirited street riding. These are the tires I have some experience with on my high mileage VFR commuter.

No experience with Michelins on the street.

the michelin 2ct's hands down. pulled the 2ct's off my street bike & put on my track bike and you cant go wrong, little heat time and they stick. so i replaced the tires with pirelli diablo's on my street bike and you really cant too aggressive in the twisties but for regular city riding they're ok (but what tires arent). look tires are what keep you on the road so choose wisely.

The 2CTs do better for me on cornering in the rain. In the dry, they both do well.
