??? Mine works fine...

Nice bike man. I got a integrated tail light with LED's and it's pretty bright... Clear Alternatives I think? The second one down is the one I rock...

Yah I like that much better, what all is involved in switching to an 06 tail?
Maybe mine will be okay. I'm looking at alternatives though. I did see mine on ebay, made BikeLiteZ...

Oh your gonna hate me now CBR TIME.... went and ate lunch with my buddy thats babysitting my bike, swung by his house afterwards b/c I wanted to pull my wind screen off to possibly paint it - ANYWAYS, he said wanna fire it up... I said: "well of course". So after a few minutes of idle and revs... I said MAN I wish I could ride! He said "I gotta fullface helmet in the house" lol.. the kids from Iowa and had an old fullface helmet he would ride snowmobiles with it was DOT but I dunno how. 5 mins later I'm cruising down the highway and bee-bopping around his neighborhood. 67* degrees out right now!! Windy as **** but didn't bother me on the road.
So get you some of that Mr. No Bike till January lol... jk
I snapped a couple of pics of the taillight, hard to get an idea of the brightness b/c it was away from the light .. I guess it's as good as I can ask for out of a light that small, oh well.
Blinker on in first pic, taillight only in 2nd, brake light in 3rd. I really wanna go to the tag mount under the battery box.

Oh ya you mentioned painting your windscreen? i wouldnt, im getting a Zero Grav Smoked at some point. For such a sweet *** bike dont paint the windscreen, just my 2 cents. ZGrav Double Bubble Screens are about $100 give or take. They also have dark smoke, which is pretty much black, i have the smoked one on my F4i and while tucked can see through no probs, so ill be sticking w smoked vs dark smoked.

Well I've held off on painting the screen. It was gonna be temporary till I got an actually smoked screen.. but hell I'll just wait. Don't really have $100 to throw toward a screen right now though, I still need a jacket and gloves pretty badly lol. And my effin' helmet shipped Tuesday... UPS tracking says it's ON TIME for delivery JANUARY 2nd!!!? WTF. I checked and it is coming from Montana but good grief. 2 weeks? So hopefully I can borrow another helmet to ride next week. There were bikes all over the roads today. Sunny and high in the upper 50's
I wanna just get a different FE. Well same company makes the kit that sits under the battery box. I can live with the taillight but would rather tuck it up under there. Just don't care for it sticking out like a spoiler - not too worried about the cops around here, and its not like the taillight will be any harder to see underneath there.
Hell you'll have your bike by the time I get my stinkin' helmet
and btw... yah my tank pad is huge, at the very top edge its not fully stuck down b/c it's almost too tall, oh well. glad it's there, one less thing I need to get!
Merry Christmas

Oh ya i keep forgetting your starting from scratch ie no gear I have the Shoei TZR Tempest , love it great helmet lots of compliments! gloves are Alpine Stars SP1 - great all around glove, jacket is ICON Daytona leather (blk white) again great jacket, boots are Alpine Stars SMX-4 awesome boot, very light and comfy! ill be getting some Joe Rocket "Rocket" jeans w the armour in the knees.
Have you decided on the rest of your gear? my boots/gloves and jacket would match your bike perfect!

looking at a couple of jackets online, this is the one I'm eye'n the most. Mainly for looks and price but I assume it's a good quality jacket as well...

And tried on some joe rocket gloves the other day, not sure of the model but they fit great, but only had blue/black in my size. I may catch some flack from you guys but I won't be wearing protective pants/boots. My main reason for this bike eventually is for commuting to work. And i'm not squeezing in some pants on top of my work uniform everyday. I know it's not ALL about looking cool, but nobody I know really wears much besides a helmet and sometimes jacket. When I test-rode my bike, the guy insisted I wear his $600 leather jacket and gloves at least, the jacket weighed a ton, and the gloves were so big I couldn't grip the throttle... Just wasnt' comfortable. I took the gloves back off lol. I understand all that gear is important, I have to be comfortable FIRST. I may get some pants/boots one day if I do some long rides, but for bee-bopping around town I'll probably just be rockin jeans and some work boots.
Don't hate. I can't believe how many people on this forum wear full gear, like I said you dont' see it often around here. But to each his own.

Full gear is def the way to go for complete protection, kinda goes without saying. However like you mentioned for most its just not practical to wear leather pants/suits all the time etc. Id def get a jacket/gloves and boots, re boots as long as they cover ankle etc you should be fine, I usually ride to and from work when the weahther co-operates that is (no rain in the forcast),
You'll never see me riding without my jacket/gloves and boots, a helmet of course is a given, but you see guys in the summer with a tank top, shorts and a pair of sneakersouch!
good luck w your gear search
D

Congratz on the new bike! white 07's are badass.

if you're concerned about the tailight not being too bright, check out TripageLED.com. its a buddy of mine who owns the site and he does led's for almost any part of the bike. he has a passenger peg led setup that you can add for extra visibility to the rear and side of the bike.
