Actually, most seasoned riders are MORE aware while driving a car since they raise their awareness lever while riding bikes. They are also more tuned in to looking for bikes where a standard driver tends to not sense smaller objects such as bikes.

what's hilarious about this video, is one i don't feel sorry for the guy since he was running from the cops, but more importantly, it's hilarious because 28 seconds into the film after the bike clips a car and lays down and tumbles 100 meters on the fwy and looks like he might be hurt, the newscaster says "police quickly come to the man's aid" but the video shows cops casually walking up to the biker and not even checking him out, rather they look through his bag first and stand around chatting and hopefully laughing. yes, no sympathy for criminals.

 

Will im not sure that was his bag it looks to me like it might have been an emergency kit that they had becuase when you first see the cop leaning over the bag it might look like he is looking at the criminals stuff but then the second cop comes over and pulls out a white... dont have any clue what it is but it looks like he is taking it to put on the criminal. Also on the first shot of the crash there is no bag next to the guy laying on the street. Just saying is all.

I saw this on cable earlier tonight. They played the exact same public-service announcement...........YES! Finally, the US is catching up and finally putting some "be nice to us bikers" announcements. Now if only they would play some for "get the f*** out of the fast-lane grandma!" announcements.

 

there are motorcyclists on the road? since when?

 

One simple trick so some level rise security when riding is to never go close to the side of the road.
Better to ride in the middle of the road or as close as possible to the line.In urban areas there are allways a lot of obstacles at side.
Lamp pole signs people.....

The best advice i can give as I've been riding since i was very young , is to keep your eyes peeled and always expect the unexpected... People will pull right out in front of You sometimes even when they know you're comin their way , just stay alert and respect your bike and the road !!
