Hey guys, this is for all that already have a hid kit, how does it works if you have to blink your hi beams??? Does it works like the halogen bulb or what??? Somebody told me that the HID dont last long if you always blink your hi beams when you are riding....is that true???

I know there are some issues/talk of issues with 55w lights vs 35w from the extra heat.

I ordered 35 for the RR and thats what I have on the F4i. Other than that I don't know.

HID's have to "charge up" so you can't just blip them on to say flash your brights at them to turn off there high beams. It probably takes 10-15 seconds for mine to warm up to their normal brightness, so instead of waiting for the high beam to come on when I'm riding I just run with the high beam on all the time. Only time I shut it off is when another driver is passing in the other direction. Then I just shut it off and flip it right back on so I don't lose that "charge".

As for it shortening their lifespan I hadn't heard that and I've only had mine since july and their still working great!!
