Every 4k or less. I go with Mobil oil.

 

I use Mobil 1 15W50 synthetic auto oil and Hi-Flo filters. I change them every 4k miles.

Call me crazy but I change it evey 1000 miles or after each race/track day. It is fairly inexpensive to do so and she runs so much smoother with the fresh oil. I use Honda filters and Mobile1 synthetic.

 

O.K. pc911x-- you're crazy ... well, ya did say for me to. The oil (even synthetics) takes the biggest hit in viscosity breakdown in the first 100 miles. This is from independent testing reports I've read. I mean if it makes ya feel better then by all means change it as much as you want. There is absolutely zero risk from changing it too often. But personally I'm right with Fish on this one -- 15W50 red cap at 4K miles.

I do have the manual, the shop book and I just changed my a few weeks back... it says 3.1 in the book after oil and filter change. When I put three in, it's at the high mark.. so screw the .1
