Like the others said it really doesnt matter as long as its 86 up ,and preferably a name brand gas (or at least a gas station that has lots of traffic).Because then you have less of a chance to get bad fuel (aka water in it from the gas sitting for awhile).
Mine has a slight bit of spark knock in the lower rpms(below 4k) if i run 87 .No issues with 89 and 93.Mine gets a couple miles to gallon more with 89 than 87(same stations, filled the exact same way everytime).

I use 89 just because it's usually the same price around here. Seems to run just fine no matter what octane. However, I had just a small amount of casey's gas (89 octane) in it over the winter and it watered down on me and fouled the plugs when i went to start it the next riding season. My fault for not filling the tank up before winter though.
what octane gas everyone here prefers?
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
