Default Need Help Unpainted Fairings (600RR)

Hey guys, what's going on?!

I just purchased this 600RR pictured below. I am in the tedious process of making the bike mine and perfect over the winter. I just purchased a set of UNPAINTED WHITE chinese fairings for this bike. The fairings on my current bike are horrible and they are OEM I figure I'll just re do the whole bike and make it mine... NOW I have no intention of painting these fairings... but I do want to protect them. How do I do that? Is there a clear coat I can spray to preserve the raw white abs plastic. I personally want my bike white, why pay someone to paint it if it's already white.... does anyone have a picture of a CBR600rr with unpainted white fairings ?! If so please post. The box will be here this up coming weekend but I literally can't wait to see what it's going to look like. ANY info on how to keep the plastics clean and nice let me know ! And if you have a photo of your CBR with raw white plastics please post!!

Thanks so much guys

the white they will come in doesn't look very nice, and it's often rubbed up a bit from being transported.

Usually you need to paint them with an etch primer, or adhesion promotor in order to get any paint to stick to the plastic - I'm not sure how much success you will have just hitting them with clear coat.

I have seen quite a few people acheive awesome results just using rattle cans to paint their bikes one solid colour though, its very cheap, but does require a lot of elbow grease, as the finish is all in how good your prep work is.

Yea, it may not look as desirable as you would like. You can do some great work with rattle cans and then clear it. Its really in the prep anyway and yea its not air sprayed but its also not gonnna be 500 bucks or whatever if you were to buy either painted fairings or have someone professionally paint them which would cost a ton, then if you drop it well hell, there goes the money. Thats why I did my own job. But heres an RR. Mine 2nd. Cheers.
