Default need a colder t-stat and fan switch-help!

Hey everyone. Well last summer my bike reaches 235f during rush hour traffic. I ride my bike to work alot during the summer time. I have a 06 600rr. I was wondering were can I fine a colder T-stat for this bike. I what to drop it to 160 degree temp and I also want a colder fan switch.
Thanks for any info.

235 is not bad...the fan should come on and then it drops...or you get moving and then it drops.

you may want to change your coolant to engine ice or water and water wetter.

Sounds like you're fine. Unless you're overheating (which so far you aren't), I wouldn't worry about it.

Use a different coolant. Distilled water with Water Wetter or Engine Ice. the HP Coolant doesn't transfer heat as well as straight Distilled Water does.

might help.

also...if you want it to run cold, you can just run without the T-stat...but a couple of things...bike will take forever to warm up...and it'll run like crap...these bikes love to run a bit warm...

if it's hitting 235 and the fan isn't keeping it in check or bringing it back down, then you have issues. it should kick on at 222 to 225.

In the summer, there's no way you're going to get your engine down to 160 degrees...even if you mounted a full size house fan on your bike! I agree with the rest, you're temps are normal...

you COULD modify the stock Thermostat to allow a small amount of coolant past before it opens by drilling a small holl in it.

I would run distilled water and 12oz of DEI water water . Unless it's super cold don;t run coolant. Some tests in Turbo Magazine proved this to be the best against many other aditives.
You might look into what the thermo switch looks like, a stock Honda from a civic turns on at 205F and might be able to fit modded.
