Default My new 06 CBR 600 RR

After 6 months of considering and reconsidering if I should get the 600 CBR as my first street bike, I finally did it last weekend. I have to say that I have read every single one of the posts in this forum regarding new riders and if they should get the 600 CBR as their first bike. Having 6 years of riding experience on a 100CC dirt bike from the age of 6 to 12, still made me think twice about riding the bike on the first day that I got it.
I have to say that it's been fun ever since. If you know your limits and have control over your right wrist then this bike should be sweet and leave you with a great feeling.
I paid $8200 OTD. I think I got the best price you could possibly get in Los Angeles area. Can you tell me if this was a good price?
I am planning to get the Scorpio alarm ASAP. Anyone knows anything better or is it one of the best ones out there?
Thanks

Good choice of bike. My 05' was the best decision I've made. Unless you live in a shady area, I wouldn't waste the money on an alarm. 1.) any good thief knows how to rip out a few wires 2.) they just draw unwanted attention that you don't need. Just watch where you park your bike and try to keep it as hidden as possible. Good luck with the bike!

Welcome and congrats on the bike.

$8,200 is a fair price, I think I paid close to that OTD, although that was in March and I live in the Philly area. I don't remember and at this point it doesn't even matter. I have about 5100 miles on my mine so far and I have to say it is a sweet bike. You are right about knowing your limits. This is my second street bike, but it was a step up from my 1994 Ninja that had 20,000+ miles on it.
