It's a shame that the poser/troll zcrawler had to bring ugliness into this thread. I just re-took the advanced MSF course AGAIN and loved it. The beginners course was awesome when I took it and I had been riding for awhile at the time (a long while actually).

Let's try to get this thread back on track, it's a great topic.

 

TheX I am with ya guy. I am going to take the class later on this summer to freshen up on everything that was pushed to the side when I got rid of my bike. I feel you're never to old, or experienced to learn something or be refreshed. Its an added bonus to waive the license test, but becoming knowledgable about what you are doing is priority.

 

Also, even if you know how to ride, and are experienced. It is a great oportunity to go out on a controlled environment and just play with the bike.

Think there is not enough of a challenge in the course?
Try to aim for a perfect score!!
Try to rev match evry single shift!
Work on your body positioning during the low speed drills!

You see... there is always something you can work on, and improve upon, and having an instructor there to watch /critique you is the best way to work on it.

 

Did not know there was such a thing as the advanced course, whats involved? over say the beginners course ?

 

Very much the same type of stuff but you ride your own bike. The u-turn box on a 600RR is *interesting* and hard if you forget to turn down the steering damper.

 

Well i finished the class yesterday, and i am glad i took it, i found everything very informative.... I have already enrolled in the advanced course and i cant wait... i was disapointed i didnt score perfect, i lost 5 points for not using my damn rear brake when entering the curve part of the test. but thats all i missed.. all total only 3 people went down... On guy lowsided in the S turn portion, it had just started to rain and he was going just a bit to fast.. .. I would definatly recomend this course for anyone who wants to ride... As a matter of fact i think it should be mandatory.. But thats just my opinon.. Stay safe everyone...
