I dont know whats going on in the world today. I myself has had 2 close calls in the past two weeks. The first one I was following a buddy down a backwoods country twistie. A car with some white trash bitch and her family is coming the opposite way. She slows to turn left. My buddy passes her and I see her move her hands on the wheel so in my mind im like "oh ****, shes gonna do it". I cover the brakes. She gases it and goes barrelling across my lane. I lock them down, see my escape route, and jerk it into the oncoming lane and go behind her. Thank God no one was behind her.

4 days later Im going down a 4 lane road in traffic. The road makes about a 45 degree dog leg to the right. There is oncoming traffic in both lanes. Im passing a car to the right. So basically Im surrounded by cages. The car to my right just didnt turn and ran all up in my lane. It was like slow motion. I could literally see my hole closing in front of me. So I lean to turn and gas the hell out of it and squeeze through.

Both incidents I didnt have time to think about what to do. I just reacted to the situation I was dealt with.

Moral of the story, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I just saw a motorcyclist fatal today, (aftermath). The typical left turn in front of the bike. Rider laying on the ground unresponsive. Pronounced dead. Body Bag and all. Very sad. Just can't help but think about it. I try and put myself in that situation and wonder if there was something that could have been done to anticipate such a collision. Of course, many people that I know say: "See why I don't like those things!" I love riding and just can't imagine being without my bike. But, seeing something like this today, really shakes a person up. Tomorrow is a new day. :-)

If you **** someone off, it's better to have them at your 12 o'clock than your 6 o'clock.

I'm not big on having road rage with a cager. Just be careful who you give the finger to. We want you to live!

see the whole problem is everyone thinks they have more of a right to drive than anyone else.

watch the attitude of other drivers! they drive over the line at you, or in a double lane they drift in your lane and flip you off!not to mention theyblow through red lights and stop sighns and scream at you WTF? thishappens in a car or bike.

people need to know it's not there personal road.

HWY driving is just as nutty. semi drivers think it's there just for them. idiots merge on going 40 MPH. the list is endless.

just because you made eye contact don't even think they know what is going on. I always cover my brakes and look for ways out.

just yesterday a guy in a work truck decided to back into my car while I was at the intersection I even stayed on the horn while he backed into me since I had cars behind me and had no way out other than watch it happen

What I have seen is car drivers trying to bit you when you are not even trying to race them specially if they are driving a sport car or something like that. They not only pass you at a really high speed but than they cut you off I see this happening all the time it just happen to me today.I also agreed that when the time comes for you to go you will be gone.I just know that I am going to die I just do not know of what if I did I would stay away from it,be safe and scan as much as you can guys, thas all we can do,just remenber for some estupid reason a car driver will always try to beat you,it makes me really mad butthats justthe way it is.

I've had some close calls and not so lucky situiations my self. Im new here and am just getting an 03 600rr and im moving up from a kawi 250. When i was on that bike many of people have tried to run me off the road and have almost t-boned me. My bike is a bright yellow and i wear a coronna racing jacket and an icon manic mainframe helmet. All are pretty load and obnocios and youd like it. Well, ive still almost been run off the road and mainly its careless moronic women(sorry but its tru) talking on there cells driving fast acting like marion andretti. I've also downed the kawi on my own. the fist time i downed it was me being careless and panicing and grabing the front brake real hard. I was only going slow but still downed it. mY gear saved me since i slid. The second time i fell, I was doing about 50mph in traffic and a lady stoped short in front of me. I tried to swerve but the front end went wibble wobble. I fell and rolled. bike slid off into the grass. Luckly no one ran me over. I escaped with only a scratch on my hand and no damage to my helmet. What pisses me off though is that people in new jersy don give a ****. When I fell the second time no one asked if I was ok. Infact they yelled and me and scoled me. Im sorry but most people should have a drivers licanse. Most people pretty much buy there licanse. I remember when I got in the traing car with my bro and some other kid when in hs going for the permit. My bro and I did fine since we are mechanics. The other kid, well scared the **** out of me the first day. ****in lmost nutral droped it and didnt even know it. Still eneded up geting his licanse( sorry if I seem to be rambling)

What Im trying to get at is unforcinitly most riders have either been down or are going to go down Its a fact. all the best have been down at 1 time in there life. I still never quit. I let it sit for a day or 2 just to asset what I needed to do to fix it but I still rode it. Most of the time itsnever the rider, its the dumb, fat *** american in there suv not paying attention.

Hey now! It's not just Americans. [:'(] But anyways, I've had a few close calls, I know we all have. Heck, even this morning I had a truck (who It sure seemed like was doing his darndest to block me in any lane position from seeing around him so I could see the traffic flow infront of him) lay into his brakes. I locked the back tire up and strated bringing on the pressure with the front (and eased off the back to get it rolling again) but brought it under control and came to a safe (but adrubt) stop.

And since we're sharing stories, a friend of mine (who works here with me) got off work early and headed to the south side of town. He was heading to the local Sprint store to (ironically) get himself a new phone with a camara on it, "just incase something happens". After he got off the highway, he's doing 35mph (the posted speed limit), see's a lady in her Lexus suv, and he locks eyes with her. After that, she must have seen right through him because she pulled right out infront of him anyways. He ended up t-boning her car and put his helmet through her drivers window. Totaled his bike, he got scrapped knees (though his pants didn't tear), a busted helmet, and some mild nerve damage in his hand... along with other bruises and bumps. Top that off with when the police showed up, the woman said "You know, I don't really think it's anybody's fault here." ... Seriously... (Then, on a funny note, a homeless guy ran off with his busted up helmet.)

You can never be sure when somethings going to happen, just keep your head on straight and keep a lookout. When I'm going through intersections and when I can while I drive down the city streets, I use cagers as big 'shields'. Stick (not in their blind spot) next to or behind a cager and people are les likely to pull out infront of you. It's when your out ahead or by yourself that people don't see you. Mentally, a motorcycle doesn't register as a threat to someone in their car/truck/suv... so they may not even realize that they saw you.
