Default milky looking fluid near my chain

ok, im new to my cbr, just got it yesterday. i have noticed a kinda caramel/white milky looking fluid running out under my chain. I cant see where its coming from but evidentally it was leaking it yesterday cause its splattered all over my kickstand. I did just get my chain replaced but the guy ran it through the smart way so he didnt have to take anything off. it is a 2005 600. im kinda worried that the guy who sold it to me knew about it and knew this was an issue even though i dont know what it is, any clues?

I think CSI Demon is onto something here!

Clean and re-lube the chain - betting that'll take care of it.

I use repsol chain lube, but any quality brand will do.

Don't feel bad, better to ask than wait and deal with potential damage/money later.

Just be happy that it worked out and don't hesitate to check back if you have any future questions.

To Nate...I have had to modify my take on the stupid question comment.
The only stupid questions are ones you've asked before and didn't pay attention to the answer,
the first time. (Kinda goes with your stupid people comment, though. lol)

How many miles should a chain be replaced on a bike? My 06 has a about 23,700mi on it. I bought it used from a dealership, they do the oil, tires and chain lube on the bikes but I don't know if the chain has ever been replaced. I am assuming not since there is small surface rust spots on some parts of the chain.

aslcbr600 I normally change my chains after about 15k miles. I have heard people say as low as 12k miles and as high as 30k miles. Just make sure to change the sprockets out when you get a new chain.
