Default Might be getting a 600RR

I might be buying a '03 CBR600RR with 8000 miles and movistar plastics. Dealership is asking 4999, but I'm only going to go as high as 4500...I'm pretty sure they will take that. Any info on the '03s that I should know about?

What would I have to do to fix the problem?

does this have anything to do with the hot start problems?

it effected a large percentile (and still are) but there is no known way to identify which ones are having problems. what's causing the units to fail is heat from the headers is frying the solid state electronics inside the R/R. now if you live in a cool area, or you mostly do track or highway riding at full speed, chances are you wont have a problem. it's the stop and go, slow though town crowd that are having problems. not enough air getting rid of the heat. the solution is to either retrofit a heatshield to the R/R mount OR find a 05-06 R/R from a junker and install it.

does this have anything to do with the hot start problems?
I have yet to determine that conclusion as i have not seen it myself nor have i read it explained very well.

hmm... interesting. I ceramic coated my exhaust inside and out and it helped a bit to shed some of the heat and I actually noticed a difference in water temps, but if I sit in traffic long enough at idle when its hot as hell out, I sometime have a dead starter if I shut the bike off when its hot. Oh well...
