Default Maybe a crazy question

I'm new to inline engines after trading in my Monster 696 that was a V twin. I've found with that engine you had to be in the sweet spot around 5500-6000rpms and had to shift more frequently while the CBR600RR has a much wider rev range and it's actually feasible to cruise in 6th gear at 90 km/h without feeling like you're lugging the engine.

My question - will I risk damaging anything on the CBR600 if I'm cruising on expressways for a couple hours at relatively consistent pace of 120km/h at about 7000rpm? It just seems a bit high revving from what I'm compared to and I do a lot of longer distance riding a couple times a week.

Your input is appreciated.

You will definitely not harm anything. That is what these bikes are made to do. At 7K your only half way through the RPM range. Let er rip!

+1 She'll do fine.....but more happy with fully synthetic motor oil. That is the least you can reward her...so what year is your RR?

It is a 2009 CBR600RR with the tricolor finish. It's a really amazing bike. I'm smiles ear to ear when I'm winding it up from 3000 to 14000rpm...I can't believe it! The engine really screams...I'm really enjoying it. In fact to I'm dropping it off at the shop to get the rear tail piece hacked off today lol.

Thanks guys
