lowering links how-to.

RE: lowering links how-to.
^^ Yep, the suspension is damn near fully adjustable. You can dial it in to create one sweet handling bike, but the trick is knowing exactly what you are doing with rake, trail, rebound, load, etc. (if those are even the proper terms) So to answer your question, no. I don't mess with any of the settings. I'll take it to a suspension expert that knows that he/she is doing before I would ever mess with it myself.

Ok, I can see that by lowering your bike, it will change the handling. But, If you keep it minimal, and lower front and rear the same amount, thus keeping the geometry stock, what changes other than you may scrap peg sooner?
???
I only ask because my wife is short and really wants to ride. If she keeps riding the F4i....daddy gets a new bike later on.
In the mean time, am I going to hate riding an F4i that has been lowered 1.5 inches front AND rear?
I will make it a point to crank up the preload and compression dampingif needed to correct for possilby a shorter travel suspension and not bottom out, IF and only if needed. I really doubt, as high at the *** end of the bike sits stock, and only like 4" of travel that lowering it 1.5 inches will change very much other than the pegs may scrap a little sooner, and you WILL need a different drain pan for oil changes...
