hey quick question guys. i see a lot of people put that cotton looking sleever to cover up their brake fluid containers, what is that for?

 

It adds 3 hp atthe rear tire.




LOL. And....it's there to collect brake fluid in the event you had a little spill and to keep it cooler if in the sun. It's a race thing thatIF they had to top off fluidduringa race, it would grab any that may have inadvertantly spilled over during the top off and somehow it got carried over to the street because it adds 3hp. LOL

gixxereater is right, but to add to it way back when they started using plastic resiviors, the plastic wasn't nearly what it is today and would sweat out brake fluid. so the headband was an easy way to keep it from getting on anything else.

 

I was actually wondering the same thing, thankx for clearing that up

Well I got a question too..... Why on my 06 is mine a black square box instead of being clear and a circle. Does that make sense?

 

I didn't think they did that on an 06 CBR... unless you've got an 06 of a different flavor. If you do... and the wristband/cover/sock won't fit on it, then I wouldn't worry about it. That help?
