my best recommendations of alarms are viper, clifford or merlins, they are superbly reliable although they are car alarms they can be wired just as well for motorcycles. In fact i'm a first class MECP installer and been doing it for 5 years (bestbuy, circuit, and couple custom shops). The merlin is a specific bike alarm made from DEI and i have nothing but good results installing those guys. I own a 06 CBR 600 RR and i put the viper 791 xv which is a 2 way remote start alarm. This alarms notifies me when i'm within a 1/4 mile distance if someone messed with my bike.
