Im amazed at people sometimes
Figured id go ahead and change the oil on my new bike since i had no idea what the condition of the oil was or the last time it was changed, so i put my 5qt pan under and pull out the plug, the oil coming out was really nice and clean so it probably didn't need it but i feel better. Well i noticed the pan was getting rather full so quickly i grab another 5 qt pan and do a fast swap and get approx another 2 qts out. So the PO i guess never checked the oil just put a qt or 2 in when he felt like it i couldn't believe how over full it was. I don't think any damage was done and is there anything i should look for since it was that over full?

You'll know if theres damage. Either it hydro locks the engine if its filled up enough [which is wasn't] or the crank/rods whip the oil into a massive foamy froath that doesn't act like oil very well and wipes out bearings and scores cylinder walls. Go easy on it for a few miles then don't worry too much.

Well found out some info today and super bummed AND to say the least irritated. I traded my 82 ironhead for this bike and the guy i traded to texts me today saying how bad i jipped him ect ect how the clutch on the harley slipped tire was bare and burning oil. Well mind you my bike had none of these problems when i did the trade and he tells me all of this over a week after hes been riding it, so he informs me that he didnt tell me things about the honda like the fact that the front wheel bearings are bad (not a problem) AND the chain broke once and cracked the case!!!!!! well sure enough i take a good close look and you can see the jb weld. I cleaned it off and it doesnt look very bad BUT now i am worried sick that the crack might get worse ect. i've heard of this nightmare before and have read alot of different posts on having it welded, replaceing the case ect but am torn with what to do. i can not afford an engine but could probably find someone to weld the case if thats even a feasable option. or i can clean it good and replace the jbweld. So my question is which of these is the best cheapest route and how much stress is on that part of the case? Sorry if i mistyped but just thinking about it boils my blood.
