how many miles?
how many miles are you guys usually getting outta your bikes before a mojor rebuild? and besides following the maintainence schedule what else do you recommend to make your bike last? this is my first bike and i wanna try and keep it for awhile...
thanks
thanks
normally people dont put as many miles on their bikes as cars, so it takes a longer period of time. i have a 1989 gsx-1100katana with like only 50,000 miles... no engine work. so basically, by the time your bike will need an engine rebuild, you will have long sold it.
On the contrary, I put more miles on my bike than I do on my car. I put on about 1000-1500 miles/month on my 600RR. (commuting to work, school, friends' houses, etc.) I'm hoping to put on 100,000 miles. (it's been done before). I bought my bike for the long run, it's going to be with me for a while.
To answer your original question, I have no idea. As long as you are chaning your oil often and do routine matinence you should be fine.

is that Kat the F type with the power wind screen?? had a 91. loved the option on that but bike had major carb issues I could never get cleared up. but when it was running right it was one fast *** beast.
Mine has 31,000+ its an 03 never had any inner engine problems I did however have to replace the throtle position sensor, that sucked, it is part of the throttle body and is 900.00. I found one for 750.0 junked. this happened at 29,000 or so, they checked valves and other goodies when I was trying to diagnose the issue, guy says he couldn't believe how good the engine condition was, and it needed no adjustment at all,I change the oilfirst weekend of evey month no matter how many milesI racked up that month.
Honda all the way man they know how to build an engine
