the ones I have need a resistor added inline on the positive side. Some come with them already wired in. You can just get LED tag bolts too.

From the led strip 2 wire 1 is positive and the other wire will be ground. Tap those 2 wire to tail light + and ground

DEPENDS ON YOUR LED's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they are 12v, you can wire straight to the battery, and tack the negative anywhere on your frame. If they are 5v, 3.3v, etc you will need a resister like Playful said, or you'll melt them.

Remember that if you wire them right to the battery, they are ON ALL THE TIME, and thus DRAINING YOUR BATTERY 24 HOURS A DAY. Also, if one of them shorts, you run the risk of brning out your battery. Either wire a switch and fuse inline, or connect them to a power source AFTER the fusebox. That's what I did.

Also, be aware that they are not street legal. the only way you can use them to legally illuminate your plate is if they are white, and don't cover any part of the plate. I put a switch on mine so i can flip it when I see a cop.
