How do I lower my bike? 07 CBR600RR
I couldn't find a DIY or How-To... so, I figured I'd post here. How do I lower my bike? On a 07 CBR600, how would I go about this? I read somewhere about flipping the link, but I'm not sure where this is. Would I better off going to the dealer who say's it'd be about $200 or do it myself? I'm new to the bike scene, but have always worked on cars all my life. Thanks guys!

There can be negative effects. why do you want to lower it?
My initial response to how do you lower a 07 600 is you dont
unless you are extremely short, or only plan on going in a straight line.
Its not a major sin, like some people will make it out to be, but as I posted in another thread, there is alot of time and effort spent
by Honda engineers to put that bikes suspension geometry EXACTLY where it is at.
If you lower it, you have undone all that high $$ brain power and have taken away from the bike.

Any adverse or negative effects of lowering a bike a couple inches? Thanks

it throws off the entire steering geometry. normal variances between rider's ride heights varies in millimeters, and usually no more than 5mm. one inch is huge, 2 inches is worse! you'll still be able to ride it i guess, butyou'll cripple its handling.
however i do lower the rear and strap the front when i go drag racing, it takes 20 minutes tops to switch from the stock suspension linkage to a longer aftermarket one, which usually costs 80-100 dollars.i wouldnt recommend riding on the street like that though, it handles like absolute ****. its purely a straight line drag racing mod.
edit: oh also, ill show you some pictures of the suspension linkage when i get home from work, so you know what i'm talking about.

They dont make lowering links for these bikes yet. However, if you look under the shock you will see a right triangle looking piece. That is your lowering like. If you flip that to where the slanted portion is on the opposite side it will lower it 2 inches.
